Krista Black, Director, Trainer and Massage Therapist
As Director and Massage Trainer at KnotStressed Therapies, I take great pride in leading a team of talented therapists in our tranquil clinic. I find it immensely rewarding to create a space safe and welcoming haven for all our clients here at Knotstressed.
I began my career as a massage therapist in 2006 after completing my studies in therapeutic massage in Peebles. This foundational training sparked a deep passion for helping clients achieve optimal health and well-being, which led me to complete my Sports and Remedial Massage Training in 2007. In 2022, I further advanced my expertise by completing Advanced Remedial Massage training.
In my treatments, I employ a wide range of techniques to address the needs of muscles, fascia, and joints. These include therapeutic and deep tissue massage, neuromuscular and trigger point techniques, hands-free massage, assisted stretching, and muscle energy techniques. I also specialise in Pregnancy and Postnatal massage, as well as Oncology Massage to support individuals living with cancer and their families.
Beyond my professional work, I am dedicated to maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. I particularly enjoy running, long-distance swimming, weightlifting, and outdoor pursuits such as cycling and open-water swimming. Regular massage treatments play a vital role in my own injury prevention and performance enhancement, allowing me to fully embrace these activities.
Outside of my work, I am an avid potter, crafting functional yet aesthetically pleasing porcelain tableware in my pottery studio—a creative outlet that brings me great joy.
