Counselling
If something is bothering you emotionally it can feel difficult to know what to do about it. Just making the first step to finding a counsellor demonstrates your commitment to change, and is a big step towards feeling better.
In counselling, you are encouraged to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential and supportive space. You might have a strong sense of what is troubling you, or you might not feel so clear - either way we gently look at what is going on for you, and often this can give you a new perspective and greater insight into whatever is causing you distress.
You might come to counselling because you are struggling with a life event such as divorce, bereavement or having a baby. Or you may come for a specific reason, such as:
- depression
- anxiety
- antenatal or postnatal depression
- infertility issues
- relationship issues
- stress
- confidence issues
- loneliness
- sexual abuse
- suicidal feelings
If you would like to find out more about counselling and how it can help you, please do get in contact with me, Sarah Wheatley.
