Orla O'Brien, Massage Therapist

I currently work as an Occupational Therapist with experience in Oncology, Stroke, Orthopaedics, Surgery and Acute Medicine. This has provided the opportunity to develop holistic assessment and rehab techniques within these areas to encourage peoples independence in meaningful everyday activities.

I have personal experience of chronic pain and the effect that this has on daily life. This lead me to discover the world of massage therapy and the many benefits including pain reduction, increasing range of movement and improving overall wellbeing. I believe in the positive effect massage has to aid relaxation, allowing time and space for physical and emotional healing.

I qualified as a Swedish Massage Therapist and have continued to develop my techniques with further training in deep tissue massage, hot stone therapy, pregnancy massage, and massage for people living with cancer. Training in Oncology Massage has provided me with greater appreciation of the nurturing and relaxing effect massage can have for people living with cancer and their families.

My aim is to complete Sports and Remedial Massage in 2018 to build on knowledge of conditions and injuries and further develop a range of effective treatment techniques. Combining massage with my OT experience, I can offer Swedish, Deep Tissue and Pregnancy Massage tailored to your individual needs.
