Katarina Aydin, Yoga Practitioner

I am a certified 200 hour Yoga teacher, having completed my training in Spain under Vidya Jacqueline Heisel (Frog Lotus Yoga).

I have an extensive background in various dance styles having run a successful dance studio for 15 years. Incorporating Yoga practice into our weekly classes helped my dancers improve their flexibility and reduce the pain caused by intense dance competitions. After witnessing the results, I fell in love with the therapeutic powers of Yoga and its non-aggressive ways in which it can help anybody, on any level.

I am teaching Gentle Flow, Yoga for Absolute Beginners and Pregnancy Yoga at KnotStressed Therapies.
I have completed my certification in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga with Judy Cameron and Sally Parkes. At the moment I am running private Yoga classes for mothers and babies as well as Postnatal Yoga classes for new mothers. I am also inspired by the teachings of Donna Farhi after attending an intensive training with this amazing teacher. I am incorporating creative movement patterns into the practice and exploring the organic foundation of Yoga asanas. I am also a qualified Yin & Restorative Yoga Teacher having completed my teacher training with Karen Kirkness and Nadie Watton.

As a founder of Pay it Forward Scotland, I collaborate with many local charities and together with my team of yogis I organise events and donation based classes around Edinburgh. I was also teaching Restorative Yoga to cancer patients at Maggie's Centre Edinburgh for 2 years, and a Women-only Yoga class at Edinburgh Women's Aid for women who are at risk of domestic abuse. I am currently teaching Yoga at Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Unit at Western General Hospital.

Karma Yoga Edinburgh was born from my desire to make Yoga accessible and fun while building a strong sense of community where people support each other, rather than compete with one another. I am available to teach private lessons, corporate and group classes.
