Esther Hernandez, Massage Therapist

Before becoming a Massage Therapist I studied Biology and worked as a marine environmental consultant for many years. I was exposed to complementary therapies from an early age and being a true believer of the benefits massage can have on the body, mind and soul, I completed a Diploma in Swedish massage with the Scottish Massage Schools in 2013, which was followed by a Diploma in Sports and Remedial massage in 2014.

My treatments incorporate different techniques which are tailored to your body and needs. Using deep tissue and relaxing strokes, I aim to encourage your body to let go of tension and pain, helping your natural healing process and providing deep relaxation.

I strongly believe a massage should form part of a regular, maintenance routine and everyone can benefit from taking some time for themselves, to promote their own well being and good health. You need to look after yourself before you can look after others, there is no much you can offer from an empty bucket!

I am regularly expanding my skills and knowledge with workshops and courses. In the past few years, I have completed Hands Free Massage Training and Pregnancy Massage Training with KnotStressed. I have also completed most of the work towards an Advanced Clinical Diploma in Integrated Myfoascial Therapy with Myofascial Release UK.

I am a full member of the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation (the professional body for massage in Scotland) and I am fully insured.

In 2017, I qualified as a Yin Yoga instructor with Chi Therapeutics. Yin Yoga is a favourite of mine and I have seen first hand how much good it does to your body and mind. Come and join me on the mat for a Sunday 90 minutes practice!

Outside massage and yoga, I enjoy the outdoors, hill walking and camping. I love swimming, yoga and meditation.

I have my own massage business at Unwind Edinburgh
