Onie Tibbitt is an Independent Celebrant offering personalised and individual ceremonies for Weddings, Renewal of Vows, Baby Namings or any event significant to you and your family. 

An Independent Ceremony is one which is centred around the wishes and values of the family involved. Choosing to have an Independent Ceremony enables you to create a unique ceremony that reflects your own personal beliefs, whether that incorporates religious and spiritual beliefs, or non-religious ethos. The content of an Independent Ceremony is entirely your choice. Music, words, poetry and all other aspects can be completely tailored to suit you and your family.

Onie’s interest in becoming a celebrant was sparked after she married her husband, Ally, in a Humanist Wedding Ceremony in 2008. Since then, friends and clients have asked Onie to conduct weddings, funerals, baby namings, and family celebration ceremonies in Edinburgh, Aberlady, Fife, London and the Western Isles.

As each ceremony is individual, the cost will be reflective of the type and location of ceremony involved. With your involvement, we would agree a fee that includes planning meetings, developing and writing the ceremony, travel costs, and conducting the ceremony itself. Onie is happy to be as flexible as possible regarding fees.

Please note that due to the nature of Onie’s other work commitments, she not always able to offer funeral ceremonies at present.
